Getting so big!

Gus went to the doctor today to get weighed and he came in at 8 pounds and 10 ounces! The little guy is growing so much we hardly recognize him anymore. He has gained 9 ounces over the last week. He is now on regular check ups, so he goes in to the doc again on June 13th, for his one month check up.

This weekend we all plan to relax and catch up on sleep. Daddy doesn't have to work on Saturday so we might run a few errands, we even talked about insulating the basement (if we can figure out how to do that!). We also might attempt church for the first time on Sunday, fingers crossed he does a good job!

Just Hangin' Out

Mommy can't believe how big Gus is gettting. He has grown so much over the last two weeks! Gus loves to sit in his bouncey seat, especially when it is on vibrate mode. It makes him so sleepy. Here is a big yawn from the little guy.

Mommy and daddy are pretty sure Gus is going to have blue eyes. They have gotten lighter and lighter over the last two weeks. They still have several months to change color, but it looks like daddy won the eye gene pool battle thus far.

Mommy has been playing photographer with Gus today. We are trying to get a good picture to use on a birth announcement. We like this one because Gus is smiling just a little. He has the cutest smile. Last night, daddy was tickling Gus' neck with his whiskers and Gus kept on smiling. It was so cute.

This is another one we may choose for the birth announcement. Gus is so precious in this one too. We love his little double chin!

Recent Fun!

On Sunday, Gus and mommy got out of the house for the first time. Daddy, Grandma Sue, Papa Randy, Uncle Nick and Chelsea all took us out to the Saddle Ranch Chophouse for lunch. It was so much fun and Gus was so good!

You can see that Gus has already been growing so much! He is starting to get a double chin! By the time we visit Iowa in July for the first time, he will probably be very very chubby! This picture is from when Gus was twelve days old.

Last night mommy, daddy and Gus went for a walk around the block. It was our first time taking a walk as a family!

In the pictures below, you can see all the people that have come to visit Gus lately.

Ten Days Old!

Gus has been getting lots of nice gifts from so many people! Everyone has been so generous and thoughtful. In the picture above, you can see a corner of the beautiful quilt his aunt Kathy C. made him! How did she know he loves frogs so much? Thanks!

Here is the little guy sleeping in my arms right now as I type. Can you believe it? Gus is now ten days old already! Today, May 23rd, was supposed to be his due date (boy am I glad I am not still pregnant right now!). We went to the doc today for a check up and he weighs 8 pounds 1 ounce and is nearly 22 inches long! He is in the 90 percentile for height! Hopefully he'll be tall like his daddy.

Fun at home!

One of Gus' favorite things to do is make funny faces at mommy and daddy, especially after a full tummy! He loves to smile and yawn and pretend like he is telling you a story.

Little Gus was jaundice when we left the hospital last Thursday, so we have had to do phototherapy on the little guy at home. When he has not been on his light blanket machine, daddy has been holding him up to the window to get some natural sunlight. As of today, Gus is off the phototherapy! Yay! We still have daily blood draws at his pedatrician's clinic to make sure things are okay, but so far, his bellirubin (sp?) levels have been declining since Sunday. Thanks for your prayers!

Baby will be here Monday!

Hi Everyone,
We had another appointment today and found out that we will become parents on Monday! I am going to be induced on Sunday evening, and should be a mom by Monday. It is a few weeks early, but baby is ready and needs to come out, so it is time. Just thought we'd pass along the good news! Please keep us in your prayers~

Baptismal Class Today

We just got back from our Baptismal class, so we are officially done with baby preparation, as far as classes are concerned anyway! Baptism will be on July 20th this summer and we will be very excited to have our little one complete that milestone. Other than that, things are the same. Still feeling fine, but am soooo ready for baby Dillavou to arrive! Keep us in your thoughts!

Doctor Yesterday

Hi~ We had another appointment yesterday, and things are still going fine, the same, but fine. I am still measuring and weighing the same. Hopefully next week we find more out, and can narrow our due date a little better. We are very ready for baby to get here!
