Well, last night, while I was talking to Gma Sue on the phone, I noticed that Wally has broken a tooth through his gums! It is on the bottom front, and it is sharp, visible, and hopefully not as painful for the little guy as it has been seeming lately, now that it has finally emerged. He is my earliest teether- Gus was about 12 months, and Hazel was about 9 months. Wally is about a week short of 8 months, so technically 7 months I suppose. He is crawling all over the place (fast too!), pulling himself up (not quite cruising), eating all kinds of foods, shaking his head 'no' when he doesn't like or want something, I swear sometimes when he is really upset and wants me he cries "maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"- where did my little baby go???? I'm not ready for him to be a toddler.
It's funny that on the exact day Walter's first tooth appeared, I had my first (and hopefully last!) root canal. My old teeth are declining and rotting away, while his new teeth are developing and growing. Such is the cycle of life I guess.
Gus likes his new glasses, I'll have to get some pics up here soon. And Hazel is on my next to do list: Potty Training. Two in diapers is not only expensive, but tiresome. So, I am thinking that over the next month, we are gonna get that girl in big girl panties!!!!!

All Smiles
Go Chiefs!
Poor Wally had to stay inside with mommy :(
No she doesn't need glasses, but Hazel sure had fun trying some frames on.
Gus gets new glasses this week! We pick them up later today, but here he is trying on different pairs. These are not the ones we chose, he ended up picking green ones, but he sure was a mature little man and wanted to be the one to make the decision. He even asked me if I remembered my money so we could pay for them, cause he forgot his money!
Here is a pic that Wally's nanny, Ty, took last week. So cute!
And another! Wally is so busy that it is hard to keep the food off his face- glad to see I'm not the only one with those issues while feeding him!
A lazy Saturday morning, snuggling with mommy on her bed.
We are having a garage sale in a few weeks so I went through Hazels clothes and put away almost everything that was smaller than 3T. Here is a 3T Abby Cadabby (Sesame Street) outfit that used to be Kennedy's. Boy does this girl love it!
Some coloring books for Hazel and workbooks for Gus. Gus is loving learning these days. He is really into learning his letters and figuring out how to write them upper and lower case, and starting to see what sounds they make. It's amazing what one month of preschool has done!

Still Worth the Drive- GO HAWKS!
Well even though the Hawkeyes couldn't pull out a W, and the loss was to Iowa State (sigh....) I still had a wonderful time in Iowa City seeing my brother. He had a lot going on this past weekend, but he worked hard to spend some much needed sibling time with Linny and I. And here we are tailgating before the game.
Yummy food!
Make shift cooler for our, um, soda...
Pretty good seats (although I am sunburned to a crisp!!!!)
And back in KC, Josh watched the kiddos. Here he has them all decked out in Iowa gear playing the the cul de sac. Poor Parker looks like Hazel is about to run him over! It sounds like the kids had a great time with their cousins all weekend; thank you Josh for making my weekend trip possible.

Brea and Wally
The birthday boy!
Too young for cake, but loved the party favors!
When Josh was a Boy
Our last night in the neighborhod pool.
Bubble bath in gma Sue's tub!
On Sunday my mom and I ventured to a few garage sales and ended up finding ourselves at the house where Josh grew up! The new owner graciously insisted that I take a tour, and let me take a picture of a carving that Josh had obviously made as boy in one of the cabinets in the den. I had so much fun seeing where he was raised.
The Drought
Beautiful sunset over the weekend at Clear Lake, near the Sea Wall.
We had a picnic with the older two kids on Sunday night on the beach.
This is the area by my parents dock. It is literally 4-5 feet down from where it normally would be. My parents could barely keep the pontoon out until the 4th of July. Now it is ankle deep at the end of the dock. My dad said it is expected to take quite a few years for the lake to get back to the water level it usually is. Unreal.
Is is crazy to think that at the beginning of the summer, there would have been water under this dock starting at the shoreline. Iowa needs rain!
