Back to KC

 Fun in the sun!

(and I had to throw an adorable pic in of my little man enjoying his tummy time)

How awesome is this weather!?!? Back to KC today and it is 87 degrees and sunny. Hello summer!

Memorial Day in Clear Lake

At Bandfest. Gus Loved! the music!

Hazel Loved! catching the candy and sweets.

Andi, preparing in case it rained (luckily, it did not).

Walter had fun too; here he is right before a blow out diaper. Great timing Wally ;)

Kennedy's hotel birthday party! We swam, ate Mexican food (Ks pick), and had a fun sleep over at the hotel.

Wally didn't stay the night, but he had fun hanging out.

Restless before we went out on the pontoon.

Although Gus was too scared, Hazel was excited to ride the tube (of course, she only wanted uncle Brandon to take her).

Helping Papa drive the boat.

Just enjoying the view of Clear Lake. Kennedy had a lot of fun on the tube too. Parker tried it- Gus was too apprehensive this time... Maybe over the 4th of July he'll feel more brave.

We had a great weekend back in CL. We were able to see lots of family and friends, celebrate Ks birthday and Papa Pat's retirement, as well as visit the CL cemetary on our way out of town. Busy busy, but it was good fun all around. I have this week off, and then back to teaching next week.

Updates All Around

My Baby Walter is almost 4 months old. He had a check up last week (on 5/17). He weighed 17 pounds and 6 ounces (95%), and was 24 1/4 inches (50%). His head circumference was 16 3/4 in (75%). He is a very healthy little (big!) boy. He had to have 4 immunizations, 3 shots and 1 oral. He was a trooper- more brave than his big brother was.

Walter is sleeping through the night, still loves to nurse, but will take bottles too (as long as mommy isn't the one trying to feed them to him!). He takes about 6-8 ounces per feeding, about every 3-4 hours. We will start rice cereal next week after we get back to KC from the Memorial Day weekend trip. He laughs ALL the time, he smiles, giggles, chuckles, coos, he is very vocal and animated. He is getting squirmy and doesn't like to just 'sit' there. He is awake much more, has 3 consistent naps a day, and likes to sit in his Bumbo or boucey chair/swing. This week he has started to reach for objects and he grasps on to them. He takes pacifiers out of his mouth by himself and he loves to chew on his fingers. He is an absolutely amazing little man.

This could be my favorite picture of Wally yet.

Last night before bed we looked at Wally in his crib, and this is how he was Chillax'en. A pretty laid back dude.

One of Josh's fundraising efforts at the Y last week was an event where he rode an excercise bike in the lobby for pledges. He was pretty sore the next day (which was good- he actually raised some money!).

Gus' last night of Bitty was last Thursday. This season was his best yet. He can still be a stinker sometimes, but he is getting more and more intereseted.

Hazel and Gus have had lots of fun lately. I am in the middle of a 3 weeks off stretch (in between semesters) so we are getting a lot of good play time in.

Hazel is my little sweetheart. She had her first session with her speech therapist this week, mostly just a goal setting day, but next week we dig in. Her specialist will come once a week at first, and then we will see if she needs more less sessions.

She is so adventurous and brave! I swear she moves around just as good as Gus- if not better! She is so agile for being barely 2 years old!

And then there was Gus... Naughty. Naughty. Stinker. Stinker...

One craft we did last week was making our own T shirts with iron ons and fabric paint. Although the shirts wouldn't win any awards for neatness, the kids LOVE wearing them. Definitely a top 5 for the crafts we have done so far.

This picture was taken in Iowa yesterday by Gma Dillavou. Hazel and Gus are there (since Monday night) to visit while I work on getting my online classes set up (today I was able to get one entire class set up, so just one more to go tomorrow!). It is impossible to work on the computer with the older two around so I am very thankful for this time. They will visit the McCollom side grandparents as well, until Josh, Walter and I head to Iowa on Friday to meet up with them and hang out for Memorial Day weekend. I have to say, it is waaaaay to easy having one kid- a baby- that just sits there and stares at you. If I every complained about being overwhelmed when I only had Gus, I am so embarrased now. Only having Walter around almost feels like I am by myself! We are getting some good cuddling time in though.

House plans are moving along. Inspection is done, insurance is chosen, appraisal is back. We literally only have closing left, and only one more month to wait! I am so excited to have a bigger home that's all mine- I can't wait to move in. We have been having 'showings' of our rental the last week so hopefully they can secure someone soon, possibly letting us out of our lease a little early. Fingers crossed...

Talk soon!

Cousin Time!

With the Varners moving this past weekend, and us having some adult plans where we needed sitters, we have been passing the kids back and forth over the last few weeks. They are all getting some good time in together! Here is Walter and Kennedy.

Parker and Hazel.

Parker and Kennedy babysat Walter overnight last weekend!

Josh took Parker, Gus and Hazel to the park after Parker slept over an evening last weekend too.

My baby is 4!

Gus really wanted to have a Chuck E. Cheese party, so we invited the Varners and the kids went wild!

 Hazel was so brave!

 Wally sat this party out.

 Parker.

Kennedy.

The Great Big Old 4 Year Old!

Best Friends Forever. Gus' pick of prize with his tickets: a BFF necklace to share with his cousin K.

Back at home, the present opening began... We held one back from Hazel's birthday last month so she would have something new to open and play with on Gus's big day.

Pop The Pig, the game he as asked for every day since he didn't get it for Christmas.

Gus was lucky enough to have Gma and Papa D come to KC for a quick birthday visit!

The most quiet I have seen Gus in a long time, as we sang Happy Birthday to him.

As you can see, Gus isn't sitting with the kids. He refused. He was having too much fun playing with his new toys.

A little mid-party outside play time.

Gus had a great time. It is so hard for me to believe that I have a 4 year old! Gus had his check up a few weeks ago (on 5/17), his 4 year well check, and he is doing great. He had to have 3 immunizations, which he did NOT like at all (but who does I guess?!). He weighed 37 pounds (which is the 75%) but is 40 3/4 inches tall (which is also the 75%)- so since he is tall he still looks lean. He is growing! Up until this point he has usually been in the 25-50% for height. So we were pleased.

Happy Birthday to my first little baby boy. You are a handful, but I cannot imagine my life without you. I love you Gus Henry. You are such a thoughtful, sweet, soft-hearted, rambunctious, naughty, loud, silly boy. I would have you no other way.
