Family Fun!

Well, this is it! The offer was negotiated, the inspection is finished, loan paperwork is moving along... if all goes as planned, this will be our new home as of July 2, 2012, in Olathe, KS. We are soooooo excited! Now we will have space for all of you readers to come and visit us whenever you like! Four bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (3 of them are full), 2 living spaces, a dining room, an eat in kitchen, double car garage, fenced in back yard, on a cul-de-sac, gorgeous neighborhood pool two blocks away... we are so thankful.

Hazel is such a sweetie. We had her eyes evaluated by Gus's opthamologist yesterday, and she got the all clear. No eye issues like Gus! She is slightly farsighted (a +1, but to give you an idea of the severity, Gus is a +5.5), but within the normal range for her age. We had her speech evaluated this morning and she does qualify for infant/toddler services through the county. That just means that she is at least 25% behind in her speech development, which we were pretty sure of. A pathologist will come to the house once a week to work with her and teach us new ways to increase her vocabulary, pronunciation and articulation, and her verbal expression.
It was almost exactly one year ago that we found out we were having this amazing little guy. If you would have told me at that time that everything was going to be fine today, more than fine- actually, pretty good- I would have thought that you were crazy. Somehow, somehow, we are making it all work. Life is so unpredictable.

This weekend we visited some friends South of the city, actually they live just a few minutes from our new house. Gus loves their toys! We have promised to buy the kids one of these awesome motorized cars when we have our new house.

A huge storm passed through the city. This was a tornado that touched down near their house while we were there! Talk about scary! The other tornado that touched down in KC that night was a few miles from my sisters new house in Raymore! Kansas weather!
