Fourth of July Weekend

Kennedy was so cute in her little red, white and blue outfit. She had so much fun at the Clear Lake parade with Aunt Traci, Mommy, Gus and Chelsea. She got lots of candy and had a blast watching the floats go by.

Gus had fun too, but he was pretty little to really enjoy the festivities. He actually got pretty tired by the end of the weekend. He brought a little cold home with him as well, probably from going in and out of air conditioning and the hot outdoor weather. Iowa weather was really nice though for the holiday weekend, so that was a blessing.

Gus got to meet lots of aunts and uncles, grandparents and cousins. Here is one with his third cousin Chase. Chase is 4 1/2 months old, but Gus, at about 2 months, is almost his size! Guess our little man likes to eat!

Here is Gus with Great Grandma Thompson. We went to her house after the parade to meet Daddy's extended family.

Here is Kennedy holding Gus. She did great! She had so much fun holding him, and was very careful! We can't wait for Gus to get a little bigger so they can play together. Aunt Traci had a good time playing with Kenny too. We went on the swings, out to the dock to look at the lake, and we painted toe and finger nails. Too much fun!

Here we are with Great Grandma McCollom. Gus was really good when we visited her. He smiled and laughed. The picture below is of him smiling at Great Grandma. She couldn't believe how much he smiled! Gus got to meet many relatives on the McCollom side, including Great Aunts Joan, Roxanne and Kathy.

Here is Gus with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Kennedy. We got to see the Pedersen's and Cousin Annie and her boys too. And congratulations to Annie, who will be having her first girl this fall!

Dadddy and mommy had fun too. We went to several Fourth of July parties with Gus, and even introduced him to many of our friends. Kate, Brandi and Lane and Rachel (who will have a little man of their own any day now!) all met Gus. Gus got to hang out with his Dillavou side cousins a lot too, and many of them got to hold him. It was a very fun, but long and exhausting, weekend. We are ready for this work week to be over so we can recooperate over next weekend.
